ITF has opened free access to educational resources
The International Tennis Federation (ITF), in order to support more than 164,000 tennis coaches worldwide, has opened free educational resources on the ITF Academy platform for the quarantine period.
The ITF Academy educational resource base will be useful not only for coaches, but also for young tennis players, their parents, and tennis fans who want to improve the game technique.
Over 340 theoretical materials are openly available - video lessons, articles and scientific studies, with the help of which users, being in the isolation mode, can make tangible progress in personal and professional development.
In addition, ITF Academy for the first time added interactive online courses - 18 courses in English, 6 in Spanish and 6 in French. The topic includes all stages of training athletes - from “Introduction to Strategy and Tactics” to “Coaching Ethics”. Each week new lectures will be added, including “Goal Setting”, “Parents in Tennis” and “Teaching Methodology”.
In addition to the resources available at the ITF Academy, free access to the best-selling book “An Improved Guide for Trainers” is also available (previously the book cost £ 14.99). The “Guide” is available through the “ITF ebooks” application (ITF e-books) in 13 languages and contains comprehensive scientific and practical information on the game's elements for coaches working with players of all ages and levels. The ITF e-book application is an invaluable source of information with over 150 publications.
“Despite the fact that sport is not a top priority now, I still hope that as many people as possible will benefit from the provided educational resources and use this time for their further development,” said ITF President David Haggerty.
ITF Academy provides working tools for continuous professional development for both experienced coaches and beginners, and tennis enthusiasts interested in in-depth study of the theoretical aspects of this sport.
